ABOUT PROGRAM

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering established in the year 2008, stands for Excellence, Creativity and Enterprise. The primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering with emphasis on design aspects of Electronics and Communication Systems. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members with a strong commitment to Engineering education.

Vision

To establish the department as a center of excellence by promoting quality technical education, research and producing socially and ethically sensitized Engineering graduates to meet the societal needs

Mission

M1:Knowledge – To achieve eminence in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering through quality theoretical and practical knowledge.

M1:Skill/ Career – To train students in essential skills to be employable professionals or potential entrepreneurs.

M1:Lifelong Learning – To materialize partnership with industry to meet the ever changing needs of the market and provide expertise in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS)

PEO1:To understand the concepts of core domains and interdisciplinary fields that facilitates understanding of new technologies.

PEO2:To inculcate in our students effective entrepreneurship and communication skills.

PEO3:To display lifelong learning skills by adapting to emerging edge technologies and innovative practices.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POS)

PO1.  Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. : Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5.  Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7.  Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9.  Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10.  Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12. Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

PSO1: The ability to apply fundamental knowledge of Electronics and Communication engineering to analyze, design and develop various integrated electronics circuits.
PSO2: To encourage the students to solve core engineering problems using latest technological advancements.

HOD DESK

Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering .The Department was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students and this was increased to 120 students in the 2011. The department has an eminent faculty, well supported infrastructure and laboratories. Electronics and communication engineering is a dynamic and exciting area that provides excellent career opportunities in various areas of technology.

The department faculties are committed to teach our students the fundamental concepts and the latest trends via smart teaching and learning process. The students are also taught with critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they accommodate their future with confidence. The students are encouraged to participate in workshops, industrial internship, industrial visits and seminars, along with the projects assigned during the course, these activities enable them to broaden their outlook and build in professionalism that makes their transition from college to industry smoother after graduation.The department conducts various workshops, expert talks and additional training programs on recent trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with industries for the benefit of faculty and students.
